Taking A Monster To The Library

Today we went to the Library.
When we arrived we spent sometime at the front desk acquiring a Library card. There was quite a bit of paperwork involved, but eventually a nice crisp card with my name on it was achieved and the success was rejoiced, quietly, by the monsterarrien and I.
Next, we had a short talk about our "quiet Library voice".
Library card in hand we headed straight for the children's section where the Monster was distracted by a bus full of tiny people and giant dinosaurs. I, for my part, browsed through the childrens books and became equally engrossed by old favorites and new adventures alike. So many to choose from and never enough room on the card.
When it was time to leave the childrens section the Monster realized "There books!" And we went on a adventure together pursing the shelves and selecting a few to take home.
After much negotiations the Monster agreed to tour the rest of the Library and was greatly delighted by the amount of books, long aisles, etc.
"DVD'S!"
"Shhhhhhh Monster"
Whispering loudly, "We get DVD?"
"We'll get one, but only if you ask in your "quiet Library voice""
"We get DVD, pweeze?" In a very good "quiet Library voice"
"Ok, pick one."
When we took our books and DVD to the desk to check out the Librarian gave the Monster a sticker, he was thrilled! Once checked out we loaded up our Library bag and both thanked the Librarian.
"Thank you!" In very excellent "quiet Library voices".
